Foldable phone fans must be very excited to see Samsung’s Unpacked event of summer 2025, considering what the rumor season told us. This year will mark several firsts for Samsung’s foldable phone ambitions.
It’s the first year when Samsung launches three foldable phones at the same time instead of only two. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE joins the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 as the cheapest option of the three. That Fan Edition moniker on a Samsung foldable is also a first.
It’s also the first year when Samsung foldables are much thinner than before. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is incredibly thin, almost matching the Honor Magic V5. The difference is Samsung will have this phone in stores worldwide while Honor’s phone is restricted to China for now.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 clamshell is also thinner than its predecessor, which I simply loved this year. The Flip 7 also has an edge-to-edge cover display that looks much better than the Flip 6’s cover screen.
